Perennial: Tolerates deer, drought, clay, sand, & rocky soil. California native. Clusters of white to cream, sometimes tinged with purple flowers appear in summer-fall. Important host plant for Monarch & Striated Queen butterflies & caterpillars. The attractive blue-gray leaves are hairy with noticeable midvein. The fruits are fat, tapering to a blunt tip. Attracts bees & hummingbirds. Good for borders. Size: 1-3' x 1-3'. Exposure: sun. Water: dry.
